On Thursday 10 November Her Majesty The Queen Consort opened the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey.

The event is run by The Poppy Factory and provides military associations and other organisations with a plot where comrades and members of the public can plant a cross in tribute to the memory of fallen friends and loved ones. Andrea O'Donnell, our Branch Administrator represented London NARPO at the Police Forces plot,120.

The Field is open to all from today until 20th November.
Police Sergeant Luke Harrison was there to represent the Metropolitan Police Service and Kent police sent three officers. Members of the public placed crosses in the plot for fallen colleagues and family and former Met officer Elaine Duggan, who served on L and Z between 1971 and 1984 paid her respects on her way to visit another plot.

Her Majesty the Queen Consort carried out a review of the plots and she stopped to say good morning to PS Harrison and Andrea.
