Prepare comprehensive handover packages for the responsible sector/hub to progress cases and minimise the risk of prosecution reaching statutory time limits or reoffending.
Ensure closure of cases where no suspect is identified after all reasonable lines of enquiry have been exhausted.
Maintain high standards of victim contact management, providing initial contact within 24 hours of the crime being tasked to IMU and follow-up contact every 24 days.
Perform desk-based investigations, update investigations on the system, order and review CCTV, and manage property records.
Travel as necessary to meet victims, collect CCTV, and transport items for analysis.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
PIP Level 1 or 2 Accreditation is essential (must be able to provide evidence)
Previous experience as a police officer or in a police staff investigative role.
Competency in statement taking, with CPD in this area highly desirable.
Proficient in using investigative databases and systems.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with victims, witnesses, and other stakeholders.
